Ruby was introduced to astrology in 1973 by a friend who knew very little about the art beyond how to cast a chart. This cursory introduction left Ruby hungry for more information, and so the magic began. As she’s often said about those early days, it was less about learning astrology than remembering it.
Ruby was fascinated by the myths of ancient Greece and Rome as a child, and when she began her journey with astrology, she was struck by the correlations between those myths and astrological symbolism. In 2005, Ruby and her friend and mentor, Linda Star Wolf, created Shamanic Egyptian Astrology, a new astrological language that overlays the archetypes of ancient Egypt onto the traditional language of astrology. Together they wrote Shamanic Egyptian Astrology: Your Planetary Relationship to the Gods (Inner Traditions/Bear & Co.).
Ruby honed her craft as a chart interpreter, counselor and teacher by listening to a wide range of people moving through the ever-constant cycles of Earth. While her work has morphed through many incarnations throughout the years, her ongoing study of mythological archetypes and their relationship to personal and collective psychological dynamics has remained at the heart of her work.
Ruby is also a Shamanic Breathwork Master Practitioner and a Shamanic Minister ordained through Venus Rising Association for Transformation. She holds a doctorate in Shamanic Psychospiritual Studies through Venus Rising University.
