Radical Transformation, Anyone?

What does Scorpio represent for you? While we'll all feel its effects differently because we're all wired differently, it’s a safe assumption that between now and November 22, you’ll make at least one deep dive into your inner world and take at least one walk on the wild side.

Each of the 12 signs’ energy is a reaction to its predecessor's. From starkly minimalist and analytical Virgo, we shift into cheery, vivacious Libra. And from that social butterfly sign, we plunge into the Mariana-Trench-deep waters of Scorpio.

As the Sun sojourns through the steamy, secretive eighth sign, it almost immediately forms a supportive trine to Saturn, offering whatever tough love and self-discipline is needed. And for the next few weeks, it will journey alongside mental Mercury, activating Mars and nurturing Ceres: not a shabby entourage.

Cycles of life & rebirth

Really feeling into Scorpio’s archetypal energy grants us access to our personal chamber of inner strength necessary to look at our personal bugaboos (aka our demons or shadow).

We might get competitive and curious about the reaches of our personal power. We may feel a sexual hunger, which is really a yearning for soul-level connection. But bottom line, like its serpent totem, Scorpio invites us to shed a worn-out skin.

Another shift, which rhymes with "gift," might be in how you process information and noticing what parts of you get triggered and engaged. While neither Virgo nor Libra is "lightweight," they can’t hold a candle to Scorpio’s voracity—or veracity.

Virgo and Libra have well-developed left brains; Scorpio's genius comes from the heart, the gut, the internal organs and the genitals, and it will usually let you know, one way or another, what it’s really feeling.

Scorpio is the sign the represents the unending flow of birth, decay, destruction, death (literal or symbolic), rebirth and regeneration. It reminds us that all of life is cyclical. That makes it an appropriate time to inspect your life through a magnifying lens.

What in you is ready to "die" to a new way of being? What habits, beliefs, toxic relationships, self-imposed limits or anything that no longer serves you (and perhaps never did) are you ready to shed?

Maybe you don’t feel ready, yet deep in your heart and intestines, you sense that it's vital, and that if you keep waiting for the “right” time, you might, like Vladimir and Estragon, be waiting forever.

Accepting Scorpio’s self-exploratory challenge isn’t a walk in the park. After all, Scorpio and its modern ruler, Pluto, represent shadow.

But if you can practice simply allowing your fears or anxieties to come up so you can take a surgical look at what's underneath them, then you’re already on the path to reaping the precious and rarefied gifts of this profound, transformative season.
